What is a Social Enterprise?
A social enterprise or social business enterprise is defined as a business that has specific social objectives that serves
its primary business purpose. Social enterprises seek to maximize profits while maximizing benefits to
society. They seek to balance activities that provide financial benefits with social goals. Sustainable
revenue differentiates a social enterprise from a traditional charity that relies on outside funding to
fulfill its social mission. Sustainable revenue allows a Social Enterprise to reinvest profits into their social
mission. Battle Born Burgers and Silver & Black Hospitality will invest a portion of their profits into the
SEEDS-Las Vegas program. SEEDS will also accept contributions from outside funding.
